Our inspiration and
e-creators
Davson World
Davson World is the inspiration of Sharon Davson through her passion for making a positive difference to the future of our Earth and all its inhabitants.
For some time now, I have included original autographed handprints by notable persons in my art. It occurred to me, that by offering some of these works on-line as a GIVE-AWAY promotion, I could better assist the causes about which I am passionate.
Hence, this Together We Can - World Environment Day promotion was born.
Michael Sheridan of Artisan Solutions
It was one thing to have an idea, and quite another to have the IT skills to implement it.
Michael Sheridan, the man with a degree in music, a composer who races bicycles
for fun, was just the person.
Working in separate venues, Sharon and Michael spent weeks, (including many very late nights into the morning light), developing this site. Then, as much time again, refining it to how it looks now.
Gratitude is also extended to our graphic artist, Rob Campbell of Twelve Stones Creative, who visually managed to interrupt the colour and form of our inspirations.
Please enjoy the journey with us in helping to make a difference.

Described as a Personal Globalist,
Davson is a great example of a person who takes positive action to improve the condition of others. She has been an active participant in community organisations for most of her life. In 1990, she started Artists For Life to assist endangered species awareness, and, in the year 2000, 48 Hours To World Peace.
In the careers of many artists, recognition by peers often comes late.
In the case of Sharon Davson AFDA DipT, her first solo retrospective exhibition was at
the invitation of the Manning Regional Art Gallery in Taree, NSW in 1990. She was only
36 years old. The exhibition titled Transitionsincluded art works from 1973 to 1990.
By 1990, her art was represented in over 40 public art gallery, city or university collections including the Museum & Art Gallery of the Northern Territory; and over 60 corporate collections in Australia, the USA, Japan and New Zealand.

In 1999 when she was just 45, a major retrospective exhibition titled With Gratitude For The Light, consisting of 63 of her most significant works of art from 1972 to 1999, began to tour in public regional art galleries. It featured in 14 public galleries over three years.
In Davson's hometown in 2000, the Gatton Shire Council named their new gallery the Gatton Shire Davson Art Gallery, recognising her achievements and the cultural contribution of her family to the district. Her dynamic and powerful retrospective was the gallery's opening exhibition.
In 2006 and now touring, Davson has been honoured with a further retrospective touring exhibition,
Davson ~ World Leaders & Enlightenment. This exhibition includes works of her art from 1973 to 2007, and is to be the opening exhibition of the new Lockyer District Cultural Centre. This centre incorporates a public art gallery and replaces the former Gatton Shire Davson Art Gallery.
To date, major retrospective exhibitions of Davson's art have shown in sixteen regional art galleries across Australia, with works being borrowed from the Northern Territory Art Gallery & Museum, Cathay Pacific Airways, James Fairfax AO and many others including numerous superannuation funds. Her art is represented in over 40 public art gallery, city or university collections; and over 60 corporate collections in Australia, the USA, Japan and New Zealand.
